Homo Habilis were also called "Handy Man" because they created stone tools. Homo Habilis' brains are 50% the size of our brains, allowing them to create these tools. After the Homo Habilis were the Homo Erectus. Homo Erectus were called the "Upright Man" because they walked upright instead of having a hump on their back. Homo Neanderthals were the largest of the early hominids. They adapted to the cold and had a certain language that they used to communicate. Early Rome
The first Romans were Latins. At around 700 B.C, a Latin tribe built a village on a Palatine. Romans got many ideas from their neighbors, the Greeks and Etruscans. Two major things that the Romans got from the Etruscans are the arch and cuniculus. A stone called the keystone held the whole thing in place. The cuniculus was an underground trench that was very long. Romans adopted to bloody sporting events, slave fighting and chariot racing. Slaves were given swords and shields to fight in slave fights. In chariot racing, the audience didn't very much care if people got hurt, just about who won. Romans took the idea of making temples for gods from the Greeks, but adapted them so it will look like their idea. Romans got their idea from the Etruscans, which were taken from the Greeks. When the Romans were good at art/sculpting, they suddenly forgot about the help they got from the Greeks. The Romans took the Greek gods, but just changed their names.

Patricians and plebeians
t There were two groups of Romans, patricians, who had all the wealth and power, and the plebeians, who were peasants and worked for the patricians. Around 494 B.C.E., the plebeians rebelled against the patricians by leaving the city and sleeping on a hill off-town. The patricians needed the plebeians, so they gave the plebeians a FEW rights. The plebeians suggested that the laws be carved stone tablets so that no one can change them and be placed on columns for everyone to see. The plebeians then stated that 1 of 2 senators had to be a plebeian and that the laws applied to everyone.
BUDDHISM
Prince Siddhartha had a peaceful childhood. His father did not let him see any sign of death, oldness, and suffering. When ever Prince Siddhartha would want to go to the town, his father would alert everyone about Prince Siddhartha going to town. One day, without any warning, Prince Siddhartha went exploring into town. He saw a person that was full of wrinkles, and asked ''Why are you so wrinkly.'' This e man said '' It's because I'm old and you will be soon.'' Then Siddhartha saw a group of people mourning over a dead person. Siddhartha now saw death. Then he saw people working on a farm, and the were suffering. In need for answers, Siddhartha asked his father '' Why do people get old, suffer, and die?'' His father could not answer and Siddhartha left to find answers and become enlightened. He starved himself, hoping to become enlightened, but it did not work. He did everything he could, like feeding himself to tigers, and was reincarnated many times. One day, he sat under a tree, and started to meditate, and it started to rain. Snails saw him, and came to cover his head to protect him from the rain, then a snake passed by and got the same idea. The animals protected him because they thought he was special. Right as it was becoming day, Siddhartha opened his eyes, looked at the morning star, and became enlightened. He was now Buddha. He went along to teach others to become enlightened.
